Brazil has designated ten new indigenous territories, some of which are located in the Amazon. It is precisely these territories, where the rights of indigenous peoples are protected, that are among the healthiest parts of the region’s tropical rainforest.

The rainforest is of global importance, but it is threatened with extinction because it is rapidly deteriorating due to industrial agriculture, mining, and other impacts of Western civilization.
