What Does Radio Production Encompass? Try Working with Sound at One of Our Workshops
Once again, the Prix Bohemia Radio festival gives you a chance to take part in workshops and discussions on the process of radio production. Not only media students, but also the public can try working with sound.
The first public workshop entitled The Politics of Storytelling will be lead by American documentarist Karen Werner. The theme is based on her work, which tries to link the political and personal spheres of life.
The entire workshop will be conducted in English, and you can attend it from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 20 March, at the Vault 42 co-working centre. It is open to the public, but if you wish to attend, you need to make reservations at the email address presspektivy@rozhlas.cz.
The Thursday afternoon programme will commence with a playback of the work produced at Recording on Location, a workshop intended for students. Olga Havlová’s texts will play the main role. They will be divided up amongst the participants and then enacted. The workshop will be headed by Romanian director, author and jury member Ilinca Stihi.
The last day of the festival offers you the chance to take part in Short Forms, the last of the three workshops. It will be headed by Swiss radio producer and jury member Reto Ott. As a dramaturg and director, he has more than 100 radio plays of various genres and formats to his name. He focuses chiefly on producing original plays from Swiss authors, specially written and played in Swiss dialect.
The workshop begins at 1:30 p.m. in the Film Hall of the Palácky University Arts Centre.
