Theatre performances, debates, news from the world of podcasts. Introducing the festival’s accompanying programme
In addition to a presentation of the best that arose in the field of radio, Festival Prix Bohemia Radio will once again be bringing an accompanying programme for children, demanding theatre audiences and music connoisseurs.
The individual festival days will be dedicated to the competition categories. Thus documentaries, dramas, news reports and multimedia projects will be presented on different days. In addition to this, visitors can look forward to an accompanying programme that complements the listening of the radio works with theatre, concerts, debates, workshops and programmes for children in several places throughout Olomouc.
An invitation to fans of pop culture
The first day, a programme prepared by students from the Palacký University in Olomouc will complement the festival listening of documentaries. They have prepared a workshop for the production of festival bags for the visitors to the festival.
The popular Konvikt quiz is also returning with questions from pop culture, where those who know all about the popular Cimrman plays or the endless television series Ulice will come into their own. Once again, you won’t hear loud discotheque music at the Kick-off party in the spirit of a silent disco. The prepared wireless headphones do not provide just an exceptional, but primarily an individual musical experience.
Data and audio documentaries as a theme for discussion
On Tuesday, visitors will be able to discuss current Czech and international issues, not only while listening to the competing news reports, but also at two large debates. The station Český rozhlas Plus is returning to Olomouc after two years with its public debate. This time, the moderator Michael Rozsypal and his guests will be debating on the topic of data and their misuse. On the contrary, the students of Palacký University will be in charge of a panel discussion bearing the telling title of Audio Documentaries Live!
Be sure to mark Radio Speed Dating with radio producers and others on your calendar. For a few minutes you will meet Czech and foreign personalities, who will have to answer any question you may have. The evening will belong to a live improvised radio play, in which the unpredictable trio of Petr Marek, Johan Ožvold and Marian Moštík will be accompanied by their guest Jan Cina.
A musical and theatrical explosion
The third festival day will be no less full. Fans of radio dramas will come into their own, as will children and theatre and music fans. For our youngest festival enthusiasts, an entertaining morning with Rádio Junior will be prepared, while Olomócké stand-up will offer a series of humorous scenes and the Radio Wave Live Session will once again take care of the music. The evening will then culminate in two performances that the theatres Divadlo Ungelt and Divadlo TRN have prepared for the visitors.
Wednesday evening will culminate with a dramatic tale written with English lightness and humour, 4000 Days as interpreted by the actors from Divadlo Ungelt. Come see how Hana Maciuchová, Ondřej Novák and Petr Stach shine on the stage. And for those who still don’t want to go to sleep, Šimon Holý will be serving up music till the morning hours in the Atrium of the Arts Centre.
Delve into the world of podcasts and multimedia
Wednesday’s Podcast Session from Český rozhlas will get visitors in the mood for the multimedia category, which will be official this year for the first time. The podcast session will be a continuation of last year’s successful premiere and will offer talks with podcasters, which will be a treat for all fans of this new method of listening to audio.
Fans of podcasts can meet with enthusiasts and professionals from the field and share their positive and negative experiences with the creation of podcasts at the Wednesday workshop Podcast Bootcamp 2.0. Use the space of the closed event for networking, sharing experiences and critical feedback with twenty distinctive personalities from the world of Czech podcasts.
