Student Jury to select own winners once again
Students will again serve as experts at the Prix Bohemia Radio festival, forming their own independent jury. Without regard to the expert juries’ selections, it will choose and bestow Student Awards on pieces from among all competing programmes and reports.
The student jury will select its own winner in each competition category, which this year include Drama, Documentary and News Report. The student selection is independent of the decisions of the expert juries in individual categories, which, prior to the actual main competition, will carry out pre-selections of finalists from among all the pieces submitted.
The student jury was introduced for the first time last year. It was comprised of students from Charles University in Prague, Palacký University in Olomouc, the Faculty of Theatre at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and Brno’s Janáček Academy of Performing Arts.
Last year the students, in almost total agreement with the expert juries, presented awards to Tereza Reková for the documentary Good Will – Matěj; Agnieszka Czyżewska-Jacquemet and Katarzyna Michalak for Marble and Children; and Aleš Vrzák for his work on the drama Fatherland.
