Prix Bohemia Radio offers concerts and theatre performances
The days of the festival will be devoted to individual categories. Playbacks of works will be complemented by a rich accompanying programme that offers visitors interesting discussions on topical issues, workshops, lectures, concerts and theatre performances.
The first day of the festival will belong to the Documentary category and above all to the opening ceremony of the 34th edition of the Prix Bohemia Radio at the concert hall of the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc. Tuesday will be given over to the News Report category, Wednesday the Drama category and Thursday the closing ceremony.
Alongside listening sessions, visitors will be able to enjoy a broad range of events within the accompanying programme, which will take place at a number of venues in Olomouc.
On Tuesday the accompanying programme will include a workshop with the US documentary maker Karen Werner, a theatre performance entitled “Quiet, recording” and a discussion with the General Director of Czech Radio, René Zavoral, the honorary president of the festival, Hana Maciuchová, and Marie Woodhamsová, Czech Radio’s longstanding correspondent in Austria.
On Wednesday it will be the turn of children, during a Morning with Rádio Junior, and music fans. The latter can take in a Radio Wave Live Session at Jazz Tibet Club or a concert at the Czech Radio Olomouc building.
Thursday will primarily be devoted to sound. The morning accompanying programme will begin with a panel discussion on the subject How to listen to film. That will be followed by a discussion on the concept of 5.1 surround sound, which is used to create a realistic sound environment.
