The podcast series Kellner is a seven-part documentary project produced by Czech Radio Plus that explores the life and business career of Petr Kellner – the wealthiest Czech entrepreneur and one of the most influential figures in the post-1989 development of the Czech economy.

The series seeks to understand not only his personal story, but also the broader social and economic transformations that have taken place in the Czech Republic over the past three decades.
The project was conceived as the first comprehensive audio portrait of a businessman who remained largely absent from the media and public appearances throughout most of his career. The creative team spent more than a year conducting extensive research and producing nearly thirty interviews with his closest associates, business partners, journalists, and other key actors connected to his professional activities.
The series is based on verified facts and authentic testimonies and aims to offer the most complete and nuanced portrait possible of a personality who provoked strong reactions – ranging from admiration to criticism.
The narrative is structured as a dramatic story of growth and decision-making that shaped not only a single company, but also the character of Czech capitalism. Each episode focuses on a key moment in Kellner’s career and places it within the broader context of economic, political, and social change.
One of the central elements of the series is its dramaturgy, which combines documentary accuracy with the engaging form of a modern podcast, supported by distinctive sound design. Following its release, the Kellner series became one of the most successful content projects of Czech Radio in 2025.
During its broadcast period, it ranked among the top-performing titles both on Czech Radio platforms and on third-party podcast platforms. The series was also recognized by the professional community and opened a public discussion about the role of large private capital, the influence of business leaders on public life, and the ways in which modern history can be told through the medium of audio documentary.
