I’m Asking
Our podcast carries current journalistic interviews with prominent personalities. In our interviews, we try our best to go into depth on a topic, discuss topics in detail, consistently insist on factual answers, not let our guests stray from the topic and not be afraid to ask the most uncomfortable questions.
Our goal is clear - to do the best hard-talk interviews on the Czech media scene. The guests are mainly politicians, economists, scientists and experts. We prefer guests who are responsible for decision-making, who have political responsibility.
We begin the podcast with an informal question to kick off the interview with our guest. In a short conversation between the host and the editor, we then give the listener a small insight into the podcast’s preparation by explaining in a short dialogue why we are covering a topic. Then comes the interview itself.
The podcast has a very strong response among listeners. It grew gradually, becoming a fundamental pillar of Seznam Zprávy’s output. The podcast was also the main platform for pre-election interviews and will be the venue for the main Seznam Zprávy interviews before the presidential elections.
The app’s listenership climbed from zero in January to 160,000 plays in December. We reached a record in March 2022, when we achieved 220,000 plays. The response from listeners has been exceedingly good, subject to a caveat, of course. The confrontational interviews we have with our guests naturally bring unpleasant reactions.
