France - Cycling boom in Paris
For a long time, cyclists were an ostracised minority in the French capital, but a lot has been happening recently.
The socialist mayor Anne Hidalgo has set out to give cycling more space in the city. Since the beginning of the Corona crisis alone, 70 kilometres of new cycle paths have been built at lightning speed to relieve the congested streets and metros. The proportion of cyclists is steadily increasing, but this also leads to tensions, reports Leonie Heitz
