Business with soul
After 4 years, the founder of the pyramid scheme, Joanna Segelström, was arrested in Spain. The Polish woman was wanted in 190 countries with an APB, a European Arrest Warrant, and an Interpol Red Notice.
She ran art galleries all over the world. She offered customers to buy sculptures, which she bought back after six months, paying 20% more. In Sweden, she said her family included doctors, lawyers, judges... French aristocracy. Her Grandfather was supposed to be an art dealer, and her mother a foreign correspondent. After visiting Wadowice, we find out that this Hollywood story is just a fairy tale. A Polish woman from Wadowice has cheated hundreds of people, and the Swedish Trustee estimates that this was a billion-zloty fraud. Among the victims are businessmen, actors, politicians, and people involved in the arts, who have paid amounts ranging from several thousand to several million zlotys. This is a story about great manipulation and what happens to people when there’s big money at stake.
