Should I Be Afraid of You, Aila?
Bronislava Janečková's experimental documentary engages in a dialogue with developing artificial intelligence and explores its growing presence in both our professional and personal lives.
Artificial intelligence is not only the main theme here, but also, uniquely, the co-author. Who is Aila? Artificial Intelligence (an acronym for Artificial Intelligence Learning Assistant). A neural network that already influences human lives, the global economy, both our safety and potential dangers. Should we fear it, or can we see it as a source of hope for our planet and for solving global problems? These are the main questions addressed in the documentary, which (perhaps for the first time in radio history) Aila helped to create as a co-author. She also appears in the documentary herself, speaking with the voice of actress Táňa Medvecká. This time, Táňa did not narrate the text as usual, but only provided a one-minute sample of her voice, which the artificial intelligence "memorized" and then used to speak in the documentary. It's surprising, a little chilling... But artificial intelligence will make many originally laborious work processes easier for us humans. It is changing people's lives, which is currently mainly recognized by experts, but some professional groups are beginning to feel it. It is entering a number of technological and management processes. But at the same time, it can be a threat to us when it is misused, for example by terrorists.
