Prix Bohemia Radio Festival 2026 Opens for Entries

5. březen 2026

The 42nd edition of the Prix Bohemia Radio festival will take place in Olomouc from October 18 to October 22, 2026, featuring four competition categories. News Report is open internationally to all public service media, while three national categories, including Documentary, Drama, and Podcast, showcase the best of Czech audio production.

The international News Report category is open to foreign entries, which must be submitted by April 30, 2026. The category is intended for radio reports with a maximum length of 10 minutes, aired between April 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026. Eligible broadcasters include Czech or foreign public service broadcasters/distributors operating in the territories of invited foreign broadcasters.

This is a news format – meaning authentic, eyewitness reporting by a journalist on an important current event, presented as a description, narration, or interview with other participants, accompanied by ambient sound recording of the environment. Entries must be submitted in the broadcast version and format, without any editing.

The News Report category is overseen by its own expert jury, which carefully considers all submissions and decides the winners through a secret ballot. Prizes are awarded to the top three entries in each of the four competition categories.

Each category also has a student jury, which awards the Student Prize to one of the finalists. Adding an extra perspective and highlighting the voice of the next generation of media professionals.

Specific criteria for the jury's evaluation:

  • Importance/impact of the entry
  • Source completeness, comprehensiveness and contextualisation
  • Balance
  • Linguistic and expressive quality
  • Sound quality
