A Czech Muslim, Kateřina Gamal Richterová, has been a target of hateful attacks and threats due to her religion for a long time. In 2018, some of her photos were tampered with, which started another deluge of hatred on social networks. As a result, Kateřina decided to defend herself and filed formal complaints against more than ten offenders with the police.
Lukáš Houdek watched her journey through the Czech judiciary for over three years. The audio documentary shows how investigating, prosecuting and adjudicating bodies treat the victims of prejudice-based violence and what impact it has on them. After almost three years, Kateřina becomes really traumatised and demotivated – not due to the hateful comments as such, but because of the statements and behaviour that she witnessed from official institutions.
