The Case Niels Högel
In the fall of 2018 a single man faces trial before the Oldenburg Regional Court. The dimension of his trial is so large that it was moved to the big sports arena. Niels Högel has already been sentenced to life imprisonment for five murders. But he killed many more.
It was an unprecedented series of murders: The former nurse put people with heart medication in danger of life in order to save them. His goal: thereby becoming a hero. He played this sick game for years – in two different hospitals. In the end more than one hundred people are dead.
