The 37th annual Prix Bohemia Radio has begun. Submissions can be sent until the end of year
The 37th annual international festival of radio production, Prix Bohemia Radio, is opening for submissions from authors of original radio and multimedia work. Authors can submit their work until 31 December 2020 in the categories of Drama, Documentary, News Report and Multimedia.
The upcoming 37th annual Prix Bohemia Radio will take place from 12 to 15 April 2021 in Olomouc. The three long-running competitive categories of Documentary, Drama and News Report will be joined by the Multimedia section. This category will focus on multimedia and on-line projects.
The authors can submit their works through the on-line form on the Prix Bohemia Radio website from 10 November 2020 to 31 December 2020. Each category will then be evaluated separately by its own professional international jury.
Before the actual main competition, the jury will perform a pre-selection from the submitted programs and recommend works for the main competition. The evaluation of the works in the main competition will be performed by secret ballot after listening to all the competing works and watching the presentations. There will be four main awards in each competitive category Prix Bohemia Radio.
The upcoming 37th annual Prix Bohemia Radio will once again present an independent students’ jury, which will decide on who gets the Students’ Award from all the competing works and multimedia projects regardless on the pre-selection by their colleagues from the professional commission.
As part of the festival, the General Director of Czech Radio, René Zavoral, will also be handing out two awards. The first will be the Thálie Award for the best actor in a radio play, which the Actor’s Association grants in cooperation with Czech Radio, and also the Hall of Fame Award to a radio legend.
