The jury listened to 13 submitted programs and, at its meeting on March 21, 2017, decided:
1st place went to the program Marble and children
Authors: Agnieszka Czyzewska – Jacquemet, Katarzyna Michalak
Jury’s rationale: "Marble and Children" is a highly compelling piece that draws the listener into the action. The report explores a politically charged topical issue. It presents the story of refugees from Chechnya, with whom the authors spent several days. The jury were impressed not just by the choice of subject matter but also by the perfect use of sound and the interesting construction of the report, which underlines the frustration of the actors and the absurdity of the situation in question.
2nd place went to the program PRIX BOHEMIA RADIO 2017 Calais, End of the Line
Author: Jan Šmíd
Jury’s rationale: The report, from Calais in northern French, provides a picture of life in a refugee camp near the town. The jury were impressed by the significant role played by the author, his orientation in the issue and bravura reporting from the field. They also praised the value of the piece. The author managed to capture the unrest the proximity of the camp – nicknamed the Jungle – causes the local people without demonising the refugee camp’s residents.
3rd place went to the program: Sounds and smells
Author: Alicja Grembowicz
Jury’s rationale: The jury described the piece "Sounds and Smells" as a celebration of sound. The report explores the world of a blind man who perceives his surroundings by means of sounds and odours. The jury were also impressed by the choice of subject, which though it is not linked to a topical event perfectly suits the radio format.
THE YEAR 2018
Results of the Reporte category at the 34th annual PRIX BOHEMIA RADIO 2018 competition:

Author: Tomáš Gerši, Rozhlas a televize Slovenska
Jury's Statement: The third prize goes to the report Temporary police station for timely and topical reporting, producing an important service to the local community and as well as a captivating listening.
YEAR 2018
In a two-round secret ballot, the jury selected the winners of the 2019 Prix Bohemia Radio.
1st place went to the program Tangier Island
Author: Jan Kaliba
Jury's Statement: On a small American island sinking into the sea as a result of climate change, the inhabitants refuse to accept their fate or its cause. Their troubles are a case study in the broader problems facing american society, but the unique culture of the island is also key to the story, with the reporter maintaining an objective, non-judgemental attitude toward his subjects. The winning submission is an ambitious and expertly-crafted piece of journalism.
2nd place went to the program Red Noses Brings Joy to Incurably Ill Kids at their Homes
Author: Dáša Omastová, RTVS, Slovensko
Jury's Statement: The reporter takes a tragic subject and creates a heart-warming and optimistic piece of journalism. The singing of the "clown doctors" on a visit with a very ill young girl named Karin is beautifully mixed with voices of Karin and her mother. The reporter takes an empathetic and non-intrusive approach perfectly suited to her subject.
3rd place went to the program Jolana is Freed from Prison
Author: Veronika Hlaváčová
Jury's Statement: An example of reportage in its purest form, this piece takes us to a women's prison where we witness the moment Jolana is freed from prison. Jolana is given space to describe her thoughts and feelings at this pivotal moment in her life. The reporter thereby gives a voice to someone the audience would not ordinarily have the opportunity to hear.
