21. říjen 2025

At Monday’s ceremonial opening of the Prix Bohemia Radio festival, actress Lucie Polišenská received the Radio Thalia Award for her remarkable portrayal of Eva Olmerová. At the same time, two prominent radio figures – lyricist and librettist Michael Prostějovský and music journalist and presenter Miloš Skalka – were inducted into the prestigious Czech Radio Hall of Fame.

“Czech Radio has long been committed to developing radio production and supporting those who give it its unique character. Today's awards are a token of gratitude for their extraordinary contribution,” said René Zavoral, Director General of Czech Radio, during the ceremony.

Lucie Polišenská – Radio Thalia Award

Lucie Polišenská has been working with Czech Radio since 2010. Over the years, she has taken on many distinctive roles: she narrated the seven-part cycle Metamorfórky for the radio program Hajaja and also performed vocally demanding parts.

She won the award for her convincing and emotional interpretation of Eva Olmerová in the three-part dramatic series Olmerka, in which she fully combined acting and singing.

As the series’ director Aleš Vrzák emphasized: “Lucie Polišenská succeeded in creating an extraordinary, authentic sound portrait of this singular singer. Her acting as well as her vocal performance is utterly enchanting and deeply believable.”

After emigrating and spending several years in Germany, he returned home and became one of the country’s leading writers of Czech librettos for world musicals, including Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, and Cats, while also writing lyrics for more than four hundred songs.
