Free and independent media have been under pressure in Russia for many years.
After the invasion of Ukraine two years ago, the last critical broadcasters and newspapers were closed down. Many journalists had to flee abroad. From there, they continue to try to reach their audience in Russia itself - despite many technical, organizational and financial problems, reports Markus Müller-Schinwald.
