Enjoy this year's festival in beautiful Olomouc and know that the work you do is meaningful and brings joy to many people
Czech Radio celebrated 100 years last year. What a milestone. Not many people live to be that old, but a few do. And there are even those who remember. It is the house with a solid foundation that lives to be a hundred years old, and then it's a joy to behold. A hundred years on, Czech Radio is a joy to listen to. Apart from a solid foundation, this also takes diligence, patience, enthusiasm, dedication and, since I’m not afraid of using words with a bit of pathos, BRAVERY.
This is a quality that Czech Radio has demonstrated all along. In a world where opening a book on public transport means exposing oneself to ridicule, in a flood of mobile phones, headphones and I don't know what else, in a world of various technologies that attack us at every turn, it is good to stop and return to something solid, to the beginning. To the radio.
Apropos, the CREDIBILITY and DEVOTION of Czech Radio is perfectly illustrated by J. Madl's film WAVES (VLNY). Perhaps all contemporary radio heroes should watch it to see the legacy of which they are themselves now bearers.
So enjoy this year's festival in beautiful Olomouc and know that the work you do is meaningful and brings joy to many people. And hello to Mrs. Hana Maciuchová.
