Střelecký Island in Prague in 1892. A group of so-called Dahomey Amazons performs here, with several African women and men presenting various scenes to entertain the European audience.

Historians today refer to these ethnographic shows as "human zoos." One of the performers, a young girl known as Gutta, fell ill and died. The people of Prague buried her with great pomp and ceremony at the Olšany Cemetery. However, her grave is no longer there. Her remains can be seen in a small, dusty display case in the anthropological museum of Charles University. Why was Gutta not buried? And why can anyone come and see her remains? The documentary Exhibit examines the ethics of displaying the remains of colonized ethnic groups in Western museums.
