Dear festival goers and radio friends
Welcome to the 40th anniversary edition of the Prix Bohemia Radio Festival in the beautiful city of Olomouc. This year, as the festival celebrates a milestone anniversary, you can look forward not only to a showcase of the best in audio, but also to a rich accompanying program and a focus on new developments in the field of audio creation.
As is tradition, each day will be dedicated to a specific category. Monday will kick off with the Documentary category and the opening ceremony of the 40th Prix Bohemia Radio, which will take place in the historic building Dům u parku. Tuesday will be dedicated to international News Reports, Wednesday to Drama and Thursday to the popular Podcast category, in which the Listener's Choice Award will be presented for the first time this year.
In addition to the expert jury, the main competition will also feature a student jury, which will award the Student Prize. As in years prior, a radio personality will once again be inducted into the Hall of Fame and the Thalia Award for the best performance in a radio play will be presented.
And this isn’t even our only important anniversary this year. The regional station Czech Radio Olomouc celebrates 75 years since its foundation and 30 years since the resumption of independent broadcasting.
