Conditions for entering pieces

Drama. Documentary. News reports. Podcasts. These are the four competition sections that will be offered by the Prix Bohemia Radio international radio festival in 2023 — the event’s 39th year.

Four competition categories will be presented at Prix Bohemia Radio 2023. For this year’s competition, three national categories and one international category have been announced.

NOTICE ON SUBMISSIONS OF WORKS

Works cannot be submitted to several categories at once. However, a podcast channel or a series overall may be submitted in the Podcast category while a selected episode of that podcast is also submitted in the corresponding category—Drama, Documentary, or News Report.

The festival committee reserves the right to shift submissions into the appropriate categories and reject submissions that do not meet the submission rules.

International category News Report

The international News Report category is open to radio reports of up to 10 minutes in duration, published in the period between 1 January and 31 December 2022 by a Czech media or a foreign media on the territory of the invited foreign broadcasters.

In the version and format as it was broadcasted, i.e. without any editing.

In this category the first three places will receive a Prix Bohemia Radio prize. The order of the competing submissions will be assessed by a dedicated five-member expert jury. Evaluation of the pieces in the main competition will be carried out by means of a secret vote following playbacks of competing programmes.

The jury will be supplemented by an independent student jury. It will select the recipient of the Student Prize from among all of the competing programmes, regardless of the expert commission’s pre-selection.
