Babybox stories – Johanna
The report is about Johanna, who appeared as a new born in the Pardubice Babybox in 2016. She is seven years old today and she says that she still has the baby hat and clothes from the box for discarded children.
Schoolgirl Johanna grows up with adoptive parents and from them she knows all the information about how she started in life, including why she got into the Babybox. As one of the few Babybox children, she had a letter with an explanation. Johanna now lives with her new parents and younger sister in Norway. If she wants to in the future, thanks to DNA tests, she can try to contact her biological family. So far, however, the whole topic of being put in the baby box is difficult for her to open up about.
