Announcement of dates and categories of the International Festival of Radio Production PRIX BOHEMIA RADIO 2010

In accordance with the Status of Radio Festival Prix Bohemia Radio taking part from 5 to 7 October 2010 in Poděbrady, the following categories are announced:

I. Radio art - Sound composition in a radio (international category)
Sound composition considering the medium radio, reflecting in a structural and aesthetic way a wide range of means of expression in current world of acoustic art, overcomes borders of genres as well as groovy principles of traditional programme schemes production. Maximum footage of a nominated composition that was broadcast in a time period from 1. 1. 2008 to 31. 5. 2010 is 60 minutes. The following prizes will be awarded: International prize Prix Bohemia Radio 2010 (to an author), National prize Prix Bohemia Radio 2010 (to an author) and Special Mention if a jury decides so.

II. Radio play
Original radio play, adaptation or dramatization including a radio play for youth and a fairy tale, up to 60 minutes, produced in a time period from 1. 1. 2009 do 31. 5. 2010. The following prizes will be awarded: prize Prix Bohemia Radio 2010 (According to a jury decision, the prize will belong to all members of production team of the winning radio play), Special prize Prix Bohemia Radio 2010 for a radio play for children if a jury decides so and Special Mention for original production if a jury decides so.

III. Document
Document up to 60 minutes, produced in a time period from 1. 1. 2009 do 31. 5. 2010. The following prizes will be awarded: prize Prix Bohemia Radio 2010, Special Mention if a jury decides so.

IV. News reportage
News reportage up to 8 minutes, produced in a time period from 1. 1. 2009 do 31. 5. 2010. The following prizes will be awarded: prize Prix Bohemia Radio 2010, Special Mention if a jury decides so

Only a programme with a filled in application form will be accepted to the competition (see Internet and Intranet). Synopsis of the category I must be submitted in English.

A programme must be submitted on CD or MP3.

Deadline of the competition is 31 May 2010.
All materials must be sent to an office of the Production centre of the Czech Radio (Czech Radio, Vinohradská 12, 120 99 Prague, Czech republic).

All nominated compositions to the category I will be free of charge at the disposal to the Czech Radio for one full-area broadcasting. A programme sent up to the last year of the competition must not be accepted to the category II and III.
